Getting to know Ibiza’s beaches: Cala Sant Vicent

It is located on the Northeast of the island, hidden away from the rest of Ibiza by the highlands of Mala Costa and Sant Vicent, which make this stunning semi-urban beach surrounded by valleys one of the most quiet ones in Ibiza. Where is it?

Cala Sant Vicent is 35 km from San Antonio, 45 km from Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, 29 km from Ibiza, 14 km from Santa Eulalia and 17 km from San . The drive will take you between 25 and 50 minutes depending on where your starting point is, the distance between the main points of interest (except Portinatx) is the reason why this beach is not crowded during the summer. At least for now…

Head towards it if…

-You want to enjoy a quiet day at the beach and finish that book that you are Reading, as Cala Sant Vicent is family-friendly.

-You are on the lookout for a beach without a beach club: at this beach you can hear the sound of the waves without background music.

–You are carrying your own umbrella. At this beach there is plenty of space for swimmers who carry a towel. If you prefer a sunbed, it won’t be too expensive (compared to other beaches’ prices).

-You want to eat at the beach. If you fancy meat, we recommend tasty burgers from  On the Beach (amongst the best ones on the island) and if you prefer fish, book a table at Can Gat, where you will also find delicious paellas.

–You love driving. Both roads which lead to the beach are the winding hilly roads from the North of Ibiza. This means there are many curves, especially if you go from Sant Joan de Labritja. Whichever road you chose, the views of the natural Ibizan landscape are truly beautiful with its scattered traditional country houses and the ploughed fields.

What we recommend

Either before or after heading to the beach, make sure to stop by the church of Sant Vicent de Sa Cala, which is possibly the most outlying one in Ibiza. From its plaza you will have great views of the “Mala Costa” highlands which isolate this town from the rest of the island and which make it one of the most unspoilt sceneries.
