Getting to know Ibiza’s beaches: Es Bol Nou
The reddish cliffs that border its shore give a unique appearance to this beautiful beach located on the South of Ibiza, not many kilometres away from the airport and from the nearby Cala Jondal beach. Rent your scooter or car at Moto Luis, don’t forget to take a towel and discover Es Bol Nou during your route along the South of Ibiza.
This clear-water virgin beach that is divided into various stretches is perfect for either the beginning or the end of the summer, when it is not too overcrowded. The main reason to avoid it during the busiest months is its size, as it is only about 70 metres in length and 10 metres in width. In any case, if your holidays in Ibiza are during the busy summer months and you do not want to miss this beach, we recommend going to Es Bol Nou early in the morning.
Head towards it if…
- You are looking for a beach without a beach club: on this beach you can hear the sound of the sea without background music.
- You like to cover your skin with clay. The cliffs that border this beach are clayey. It’s enough if you take a small amount of sea water to obtain clay with which to cover your body.
- You would like to eat at the beach. Beside the beach there is the Sa Caleta restaurant which specializes in rice and seafood. It has a pleasant garden below juniper trees where you can try their famous Caleta coffee after your meal. It is open all year round, so if you escape to Ibiza during the low season you will also be able to include this stop while making your route.
- You are interested in history. A few metres away from the beach you will find the Phoenician archaeological site of Sa Caleta. To reach it you only have to follow the path that begins at the Sa Caleta restaurant. You will also discover a military bunker which dates back to 1940 and a tranquil inlet surrounded by various fishermen’s boatyards.
Where can I find it?
Es Bol Nou is 19 kilometres away from Sant Antoni de Portmany, 10 kilometres away from Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, 12 kilometres away from Ibiza town and 28 kilometres away from Santa Eularia des Riu.
