5 places in San Antonio which open all year round

Every year there are more and more direct flights from mainland Spain to Ibiza during the low season, which makes it easier for a weekend trip. For this reason there is also a growing number of places that remain open even during the most quiet months. If you are planning a two or three day trip to Ibiza, take note of these locations in San Antonio to include them in your plans.

Es Ventall

During the low season, this well-known restaurant in San Antonio is open from Thursday to Sunday. On its menu you will find traditional Ibizan dishes such as “bullit de peix” (boiled fish), but also more modern dishes such as amberjack tataki with fresh seaweed and teriyaki sauce. Web

Hostal La Torre

It is one of the few hotels in town that still has guests during the winter months. It’s not necessary, however, to be one of their guests to enjoy a meal with sea views or a nice glass of wine while watching a beautiful sunset in San Antonio, as during the winter months they are stunning. Web

Es Rebost de Can Prats

This restaurant with traditional Ibizan food sits where it was once one of the first shops on the island. During these months, on their menu there are many winter specialties such a traditional rice dish with meat, “sofrit pagès” (fried meat with vegetables) or fried squid with sobrassada (cured sausage). The town itself

It’s true that many shops and other establishments in San Antonio are closed during the winter months; nevertheless, it is a very good time to walk along the bay, to pay attention to the town’s church, which is a perfect example of Ibiza’s fortress temples; or to discover the colourful graffiti images that have been done by international artists on a dozen façades. These famous artists include Phlegm, Interesni Kazki, INTI, Malarky and Federico Massa, amongst others.
