Ibiza is an island rich in culinary traditions that reflect its history and Mediterranean culture. Below, we present a selection of authentic Ibicencan cuisine restaurants, each with its own specialties and unique characteristics. Many of them are very popular in summer, so we recommend booking in advance. Bon profit!

Among the most representative dishes of Ibicencan gastronomy are “bullit de peix“, a fish stew with alioli served with arroz a banda; “sofrit pagès”, made with lamb, chicken, “butifarra”, and potatoes; “borrida de rajada”, a traditional stew of ray fish cooked with potatoes; and “arroz de matanzas”, prepared with pork, “sobrasada”, and mushrooms. In the dessert section, standout sweets include “flaó”, a cheesecake made with sheep’s cheese and mint, and “greixonera”, a pudding made from leftover “ensaimadas” from the previous day.

Ibicencan restaurants for winter and summer

Ca n’Alfredo

Situated on Paseo Vara de Rey in Ibiza Town, Ca n’Alfredo is one of the island’s emblematic traditional restaurants. With over 70 years of history, its cuisine focuses on traditional recipes from the local cookbook, such as “guisat de peix”, calamares stuffed with “sobrasada”, “cuinat” (a typical Easter dish), and rabbit with snails and mushrooms. The establishment has received multiple gastronomic and local awards for its legacy.

Es Pins

On the road to Sant Joan, known for its many restaurants, you’ll find Es Pins, a favorite among local residents, known for its family-friendly atmosphere and commitment to tradition. Its standout dishes include hearty stews and spoon dishes made with local ingredients. Additionally, their alioli and their homemade payés bread with “matalahúva” are highly appreciated by regular customers.

Can Pujol

With views of Portmany Bay and just a short drive from the town of Sant Antoni, Can Pujol is famous for its fresh fish and seafood. Its specialty, “bullit de peix”, is a traditional Ibicencan fish stew that embodies the essence of Ibiza’s seafood cuisine. Its rice dishes and grilled fish platter are also very popular.

Es Rebost de Can Prats

Located in the center of Sant Antoni, Es Rebost de Can Prats is a benchmark for Ibicencan gastronomy. This restaurant, run by Cati Prats and established in her grandparents’ former grocery store, offers traditional dishes such as “sofrit pagès” and arroz de matanzas. Its cozy atmosphere and rustic decor transport diners to the Ibiza of the past.

El Bigotes

Located next to Cala Mastella, this rustic chiringuito serves only “bullit de peix”, cooked over a wood fire, with its stewed fish, rice, “flaó” for dessert, and “café Caleta”. It operates from May to October, and reservations are a must due to its popularity.

Ca’s Pagès

Ca’s Pagès is a family-run establishment that has been serving traditional Ibicencan dishes since 1972, including “arroz de matanzas” and “sofrit pagès”. Located on the road to Sant Carles, its rustic atmosphere and dedication to local cuisine make it a reference point for Ibicencan gastronomy. Important: they do not accept reservations or card payments.

Es Ventall

This restaurant in the center of Sant Antoni, now run by the second generation, blends tradition with modernity, featuring an innovative approach to its starters and main courses, all highlighting local ingredients. Its courtyard is particularly pleasant at midday in spring and on summer nights, making it an excellent choice for a romantic dinner in Ibiza.

Fonda Pou des Lleó

Located just a few meters from Pou des Lleó Cove, in the Sant Carles area, this fonda is well known for its “bullit de peix” and seafood rice dishes. It has ample outdoor space, and its “all i oli” is one of the must-try sauces in Ibiza.

Ca na Ribes


This historic restaurant in Santa Eulària offers timeless recipes such as “borrida de rajada”, rice dishes, and homemade “flaó”. It is located on one of the pedestrian streets in the center of Santa Eulària and features a pleasant, shaded courtyard.

Can Gat

Overlooking Cala Sant Vicent, this is one of the Ibicencan seafood restaurants that stays true to traditional marinera cuisine. Among its specialties are “crostes” salad with “peix sec”, “bullit de peix”, “salmorra” with arroz a banda, and “guisat de peix”, not to mention its daily fresh fish cooked grilled or baked.

Can Pep Salvadó

On the road connecting Santa Eulària with Es Canar, this traditional roadside restaurant specializes in Ibicencan fish dishes: “bullit de peix”, “salmorra”, and “guisat de peix”.

Can Caus

Typical Ibicencan sausages, “crostes” salad, “arroz de matanzas”, roast kid goat, and Ibicencan lamb are just some of the traditional country dishes found at this grill restaurant, located near Santa Gertrudis, on the road that connects Ibiza Town with this village.
