The Hippy Markets of Ibiza

Ibiza hippy market. Any trip to Ibiza sometime includes an afternoon or a dedicated hours to browse the stalls of different hippy markets open in summer across the island. No matter where you stay, because very close to you will surely find one of these popular markets, some of which are held only on certain days of the week.  The island is reputed to have a strong bohemian character thanks to the hippies, artists and wealthy but carefree travelers began arriving on the island in the 60s brought with them a free and open attitude that met the character caracterísitco independent of the islanders, unlikely to foreign prosecution.

Those hippies exhibited a particular style of dress, which mixed elements of Western fashion with others who knew in there travels in India, a popular destination in vogue among children well at the time. Punta Arabi

Punta Arabí  is the biggest Hippy Market of Ibiza , with hundreds of stalls. You will also find live performances, children’s activities and food stalls. You can spend hours without realizing it! Held on Wednesdays, from 10 am until the end of the evening

Las Dalias

The market of Las Dalias every Saturday of the year takes place from 10:00 am. You’ll find artisans designs Ibiza, clothing arriving from Asia and Morocco, exclusive leather bags, fashion Formentera, decorative items, food products of the island, jewelry, natural cosmetics …. It has large parking areas, but it is soon approaching the morning to avoid the queues on the road. In summer the Saturday schedule is extended until nightime and is also celebrated Monday nights, Tuesday and Sunday.

During the summer you’ll find other smaller markets hippies in Cala Llenya -each Sunday from 09: 00h- in Sant Antoni (every night), Santa Eulària des Riu, Ibiza (all als nights, near the port) and bay of Benirrás (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) in addition, in Sant Jordi every Saturday is held a second hand flea market at the old racecourse.
