Have you found a flight to Ibiza irresistibly cheap for this Winter and you don´t know if it´s worth buying it? If so, take note of the following proposals and come to know the island at this time of year. Sure you wanna go back! Hire a car, follow our advice and enjoy a perfect getaway :- )
1.Stay in Can Curreu
If during your weekend in Ibiza you want to enjoy a special stay full of details, book at this rural hotel located in the vicinity of Sant Carles and the well-known flea market of Las Dalias. Can Curreu has 17 rooms and suites, all decorated in style and individually. Moreover, you can enjoy its spa or go for its horseback ridings on the island.
2. Go shopping at the flea markets.
All weekends of the year there are five flea markets on the island. The most sought after by travellers is undoubtedly the one in Las Dalias, which during the Winter moths maintains its opening on Saturdays, although with a more reduced schedule (till 18:00h). Also on Saturdays mornings it is organized the popular flea market of Sant Jordi, arranged in the old hippodrome. The same day and after midday it is celebrated at the junction of Buscastell, next to Can Tixedó, the Market of Forada, where visitors find fruits, vegetables, preserves and homemade jams, carob chocolate, honey and handicrafts. And finally, on Sundays you can go shopping at the flea market of Cala Llenya, the other second-hand trail of the island, and at the market of Sant Joan, located in the village of the same name and where organic products are sold, handcrafted designs, cosmetics and sweets.
3.Enjoy a delicious paella by the sea.
One of the greatest pleasures of the Winter of Ibiza: enjoy a meal by the sea. And if what it comes to the plate is a paella, so much the better. During Winter time you can enjoy this wonderful moment in La Escollera, with incredible views over the beach of Es Cavallet; Sa Caleta, located over the cove with the same name; Port Balansat, in the port of Sant Miquel; and in Yemanjá, in Cala Jondal.
4.Discover the most timeless Dalt Vila.
The off season gives to Dalt Vila a character as a city detained indefinitely where anything exists but stones and history. Those who know it in Summer can be impressed by such great quietude that, however, allows you to look more closely at its narrow street, their Ghotic mansions or the ancient Arab towers which are still perceived in the layout of the old walls. This trip to the past can –and must- be completed with a visit to the close Necropolis of Es Puig des Molins, a punic deposit of extraordinary value.
5.Tour around the island in 9 churches.
If is the first time that you travel to Ibiza, a great way of discovering its beautiful landscape is following the route that links its most outstanding churches. This layout, which can be adapted according to the starting point of the route, it should include –and better by following this order- the church of Sant Rafel (from where you will have fantastic views over the city of Ibiza), the church of Santa Agnés, the church of Sant Miquel, the church of Sant Vicent – the most remote of all-, the Puig de Missa in Santa Eulària, the church of Jesús– with a superb altarpiece inside-, the church of Es Cubells, leaning against the cliffs; the church of Sant Josep and the church of Sant Antoni, after which you can approach the breakwater of the port to finish the route watching the famous sunset of Ibiza.
