Okuda’s work in Ibiza: his first mural on the ground
Okuda’s colourful work in Ibiza can be seen since summer 2025 in one of the main tourist streets of Sant Antoni de Portmany, where for the first time this urban art artist has created a design for the ground. Find out where it is and walk around this original work of art.
Under the name “Endless Rainbow Walk”, the Spanish artist Okuda San has transformed one of Sant Antoni de Portmany’s busiest streets during the summer, as part of a town council project that aims to transform the area into a more attractive space for all kinds of visitors. Thus, he has created a unique promenade of colour, geometry and symbolism that invites visitors to live a new experience of art, diversity and cultural coexistence.
Okuda’s work in Ibiza: what is it like?
Okuda San ‘s latest creative work has been a challenge to execute for this famous urban artist, due to the uniqueness of the project. ‘Endless Rainbow Walk’ unfolds along more than 160 metres of pavement, covering more than 1,068 m². A walkable work of art where the characteristic elements of Okuda San ‘s work appear, such as the geometrical shapes, symbols, animals and his ‘Kaos Star’, present in Okuda’s usual repertoire.
For its execution, Okuda used resins, pigments and rollers instead of his usual sprays, adopting a slower and more delicate technique that required the creation of colours on the spot and up to 20 hours of drying time per colour. A technical and creative challenge for the artist, as this was the first time he had created a work of this size on the floor using a new technique, and the work he spent the longest time on, with more than a month of work.
Endless Rainbow Walk: its meaning
Okuda’s work in San Antonio (Sant Antoni de Portmany) alludes to an infinite rainbow that symbolises diversity and inclusion, values that Okuda expressly associates with Ibiza and its image as a tolerant island where everyone has a place. The geometric and chromatic forms, characteristic of the artist, create a collaborative atmosphere that invites visitors to contemplate and walk through it, thus immersing themselves in urban art. In short, an immersive artistic stroll that speaks of freedom, multiculturalism and urban renewal.
Where is Okuda’s work in Ibiza?
The artistic intervention is located in Santa Agnès street, in the heart of the West End, in San Antonio, a nightlife area currently undergoing renovation and modernisation. Closed to road traffic to preserve the painted floor, the work also includes an additional wall mural in a temporary square where a new cultural centre is planned to be built.
To complement the new art installation created by Okuda, the street has been covered with multicoloured textile tarpaulins to protect the work from sunlight and water, as well as to make the walk more pleasant during the peak hours of summer days
Okuda San : his style and work
This unique artist from Santander has evolved from graffiti to large-format urban art, with works also in sculpture and design. With an unmistakable style, his works include multicoloured geometric compositions with grey figures, symbols and animals, all in the key of pop surrealism.
Existentialism, the universe, infinity and the contradictions of contemporary life are common themes in his creations, which can be admired in numerous cities around the world, including Geneva, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Toronto, Hamburg, Brussels, Perth and Denver, among others.
