The extensive range of Ibizan cuisine includes a wide number of restaurants which specialize in Japanese cuisine. If you are amongst those who know what “toro” is without having to ask the waiter (tuna), take note of the following three destinations and make sure to book your table asap.

1. Sushiya Aoyama
It is located in the Marina of Ibiza, in the hidden “sa Drassaneta” square. This small Japanese stands out as one of the best ones in Ibiza. We like Sushiya Aoyama for their great service, the location (it has a good vibe) and, of course, the expertise of Hideki Aoyama, the chef. We recommend that you order the toro sashimi, the ibizan chicken tamagoyaki and the Californian sushi. We suggest you make a booking as they do not have many tables.

2. Nagai Ibiza
Sushi addicts rarely overlook this stunning Japanese restaurant on the road to Sant Joan, it is most definitely one of the best ones on the island. The Nagai Ibiza manicured menu offers both traditional and fusion cuisine, with a wide range of sushi and sashimi, rice dishes, noodles and fish specialities. They only open during the evening and both its outside garden and the restaurant’s inside are perfect for a romantic dinner for two.

3. Kokoro
Our third recommendation is in Santa Eulalia, on San Juan road. If you are on this side of the island, book a table in Kokoro and try it’s original and traditional specialities and also their interesting fusion offers, such as their uramaki foie (liver) and eel. Don’t forget to order their gyoza (vegetable or meet pies!)
